“During these uncertain times, this villa offers a sanctuary from all the stresses!  Complete privacy with lovely views of the hills is perfect day and night. The cottage has been upscaled further since our previous visit.  Pool is great, as is the hot tub!  Beautifully kept gardens and plenty of sunny/shady spots to sit and relax.  Inside is wonderfully clean, equipped and comfortable.  Awesome beaches about 30-40 mins drive and Tavira is great to explore.  Great restaurants around too!  Mags and Ian make the stay easy and perfect.  Highly attentive throughout, very personable and accommodating, living only a short distance away.  The welcome pack was very useful and kind, they could not do enough for you!  Great service!  Highly recommended.”  Shaun and Lucy, Sept 2020

"Thank you Mags and Ian for such a warm welcome.  We have had a fabulous time in this lovely place.  Apart from the lovely cottage and fab pool and hot tub, some of our highlights have included the markets at Loule and Olhao - the wonderful original grocery store at Loule, the warm and friendly service and beautiful venue at Lagar de Mesquita, the beautiful pink palace at Estoi, drinking coffee in local cafes....All in all our first trip to Portugal has been fantastic.  Stuart, Lisa and Ben, 29 August -4 September 2017

 

"Lovely villa.  Lovely weather.  Spectacular scenery and abundant wildlife.  More than 40 bird species in and around the grounds.  Expect to double that at least when we return at the end of August.  Will never tire of watching the swallows (especially the "red-rumped's") divebomb the pool.  The Golden Oriole eluded every devious tactic to get it photographed, but again - expect to rectify that in Aug/Sept.  Mags and Ian deserve all the plaudits dished out by previous guests.   Best welcome pack we've had anywhere!  And our only two issues - a broken corkscrew and a broken boiler - were both dealt with promptly and with no fuss.  In summary - we grew more fond of Casa Violeta each day of our stay and will count the days to our return."  Mark and Chris, 28 May - 11 June 2014

"We have enjoyed our 10 days' stay in Casa Violeta and have been lucky to have had 9 days of blue skies and hot sunshine (especially after the lousy summer in England!). Highly recommend the fish and vegetable markets in Olhão, beach at Fuseta and "Pollo" restaurant in Sta Luzia. "Oh wow!! Came to recharge our batteries and Casa Violeta enabled us to do so by masses. We haven't done much - alternated 'at home' days with trips to the beach. Weather was fab - the whole place a peninsula of tranquility. Lots of time spent watching the swifts, swallows, housemartins drink from the pool - very aquabatic!
